Going to Djibouti



Who ?

The Consulate of the Republic of Djibouti in Nairobi accepts only request from people resident in Kenya and Rwanda.

 

How ?

To obtain a visa, the following documents must be fully provided to the Consulate:

• The original passport and a copy of the passport bio-data;
• The application form completed and signed;
• One (01) passport size photograph;
• A letter of invitation justifying the Applicant’s visit to Djibouti;
• Contact person and address in Djibouti;
• hotel reservation;
• Copy of the air flight ticket;
• Fees (Bankers Cheque, see below fees section).

For Business Visa, the following documents must be fully provided to the Consulate:

• The original passport and a copy of the passport bio-data;
• Dully filled and signed application form(s) ;
• One (01) passport size photograph;
• Company profile;
• A letter of recommendation from the company;
• Contact of the person or the company in Djibouti;
• hotel reservation;
• Copy of the air flight ticket;
• Copy of a national Identification card;
• Fees (Bankers Cheque, see below fees section).

When ?

The processing time to obtain a visa is 48 hours. However, in some cases, the period may be extended to two weeks.

The Consulate receives the visa applications from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 12pm.

The applicants will collect their passports only Mondays to Thursdays from 2pm to 3:30pm and Fridays from 12pm to 1:30pm.

Non-Diplomats have to avail themselves at the embassy.

Any inquiries on information regarding Djibouti should be made from 9am to 2pm. No admission will be allowed after 2 pm unless an appointment is scheduled.

Bankers drafts are not accepted.

For safety reasons, we remind you that the payment of fees can only be done at the embassy and, in no circumstances, should be sent by mail.
